NOTE TO CUSTOMERS:
Travel Essentials 2.0 is an update of our popular Travel Essentials pattern which was released in 2013.
In addition to greatly improving the illustrations and layout, we added a hanging strap, an exterior zippered pocket, and reduced the visible stitching lines on the outside.
We have also filmed an Add-on Video to help you and your customers make the project.
Since the Travel Essentials 2.0 pattern includes a coupon to get the Add-On Video at no charge, we would recommend that they purchase the new and improved version of the pattern.
CLASS INFO:
Travel Essentials 2.0 makes a great class for all levels of sewists, from beginners to more advanced makers.
We'd suggest two half-day or one full-day class for this project and would recommend that students make the Organizer in class. A demo of the steps for the Hot Tools Sleeve should be sufficient for them to finish that part of the project on their own outside of class.
If you split it into two classes, we'd suggest that you cover Steps II - IV in the first class, covering preparation of the various components of the Organizer (binding, handles and straps, and pockets). Students can finish the components and return to assemble the Organizer in the second class.
We recommend that students read the pattern and watch the Add-on Videos before coming to class. They should also come to class with their fabric quilted and everything cut out and labeled for the Organizer. So, they should complete all of steps I. Cut and Quilt on pages 2 and 3 of the pattern before coming to class.
