Create your own unique Boro inspired Japanese rice bag. Using patchwork scraps or traditional Japanese fabrics. You will design and compile your own slow stitch fabric, from there you will construct the rice bag. Rice bag is finished off with your own embellishments and cording and decorative tips. All the skills learnt can then be utilised to make other future projects in the series.

Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) is a is an extremely useful technique where precise piecing, sharp points and difficult small pieces need to be stitched together. FPP is used to achieve those amazing sharp points. In this Hands-On class with Susan, you will construct a Table Runner using the Foundation Paper Piecing, and Quilt as You Go Techniques to assemble and complete the Table Runner. 9.30am - 3.30pm

Kawandi is traditional hand-stitching from Western India. Kawandi quilts, are made from scrap fabric, including old saris or fabric. This is a technique class where you will be learning the art of Kawandi hand stitching & hand piecing understanding how Kawandi quilt is assembled, no quilting or binding required. The Kawandi process of piecing and hand stitching is mindful and relaxing.

Spin02: One Block Spin with Susan

Create a Fabulous Unique Quilt using One Fabric with only One Shape/Block This is a process not a pattern which is open to interpretation and creativity. The Wonderful thing is that 2 people can use the same fabric resulting in 2 totally different quilts. The cutting technique and piecing creates distinctive kaleidoscope blocks. It is almost impossible for a block to repeat, unless you decide to intentionally recreate one. The designing and layout of the blocks creates texture and movement through spins and swirls. This is a full day class 9.30am -3.30pm
